課程目標
The purpose of this course is to help graduate students understand the fundamental elements of microeconomic theory and to appreciate its potential uses in the modern business economy. No doubt that the learning of mathematics (algebra and calculus) is necessary to conduct our analysis in and after class. However, the challenges for students are to express problems and to derive economic insights from the mathematical formulation rather than mathematics per se. 
課程要求
Throughout the semester, students are required to do homework assignments every two weeks. Jointly they will count for 50% of your final grade. The rest weights are placed on class participation (15%) and Final Examination (35%). Students are encouraged to preview chapter one and chapter four in Silberberg and the topic about Theory of firm before class starts.
